Unfinished Business: Why I'm Asking for Your Vote

It has been a difficult Council term, however by working with committee volunteers and staff,
I have been able to deliver, progress and initiate infrastructure, climate and other projects.
The focus has been on obtaining or using grant funding to reduce costs for taxpayers.
I am asking for to continue as a Councillor to make sure these are successfully advanced and completed. Vote for experience, results and wiser spending.
Infrastructure deficit, water security and resilience
Continue driving important infrastructure upgrades including water, drainage and roads, and climate resilience projects (see list below)
Climate action, conservation and environmental initiatives
Deliver the long-awaited climate action plan which now has grant funding, and continue to be a voice for nature
Financial stability
I believe reducing costs and reining in expenditure is achievable with the support of like-minded others on Council: we do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem
Our Village, Our Way
Ensure the "refreshed" Official Community Plan reflects the vision and values of residents and decisions are made with the community's needs first and foremost
Emergency planning and community safety
Continue developing the emergency plan and supporting first responders

Water pH Adjustment to reduce lead in drinking water Budget approved by Council
Chair, Climate Action Committee
Initiated water metering/leak detection project (100% grant funded, supported by the Infrastructure Committee) Underway
Community Recycling Depot - with blue boxes, generates $40,000+ annually Complete/ongoing
Village Hall replacement of oil-burning furnace with heat pump and high efficiency fireplace for heating in winter/outages and cooling in hot weather (100% grant funded) Complete
Climate Risk Assessment/Adaptation Plan* (100% grant funded) Underway
Natural Asset Inventory (100% grant funded) Underway
Electrification of municipal fleet Grant application in process
*This project received 100% grant funding based on our small population and rural designation, a change I worked on during my previous term on Council.
NON-COMMITTEE PROJECTS
The installation of highway noise monitors to collect data to support requests to the Province for much-needed speed and noise reduction, in collaboration with a resident volunteer and Port Moody (2026)
Ongoing discussions with MLA advocating for use of the Gravel Pit for hiker parking (2025/6)
